The Rafale awards ceremony was held during the Paris Air Show. Éric Trappier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dassault Aviation, was on hand to award the prizes. These awards recognize officers and non-commissioned officers (tactical officers, pilots, navigators, mechanics, etc.) from the French Air and Space Force, and the French Navy, who have distinguished themselves in external operations during their different missions.

Air India flight 171 from Ahmedabad to London-Gatwick crashed shortly after take off on the afternoon of 12 June.
