Boeing F-47 Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD)

The Boeing F-47 is a next generation air superiority platform intended to replace the Lockheed Martin F-22A in U.S. Air Force (USAF) service. Boeing was announced as the victor of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) competition against Lockheed Martin in March 2025. The service has since withheld key F-47 programmatic and configuration details citing operational security. The USAF has described the F-47 as less costly and more adaptable than the F-22, as well as having, “significantly longer range, more advanced stealth, be more sustainable, supportable, and have higher availability than our fifth-generation fighters.”
