NEW DELHI: As part of its endeavour to increase the annual value of aircraft components and services sourced from India to $1.5 billion from $750 currently, Airbus on Thursday formally awarded a contract for the manufacture and assembly of its A220 family aircraft doors to Bengaluru-based Dynamatic Technologies.
As per the contract, Dynamatic Technologies will manufacture and assemble the cargo, passenger and service doors along with the over-wing emergency exit doors for the A220 family aircraft, which is eight doors per aircraft.
“The first door will be delivered early next year and the production process has already started,” said Udayant Malhoutra, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Dynamatic Technologies, while addressing the media at the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday.
The contract was formally announced at the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Civil Aviation V.K. Singh, Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam, Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India & South Asia, Udayant Malhoutra as well as senior executives from Airbus and Dynamatic Technologies.
“This export award is amongst the largest ever placed on an Indian manufacturer by any Global Aviation OEM (original equipment manufacturer), and is a strong testament to Make-In-India,” said Malhoutra.
